Intro

Roxanne RussellI am a teacher, researcher and digital media designer. My professional and research focus is exploring educational collaborations to meet global challenges of sustainable and equitable development. I conceptualize, design, develop, integrate and evaluate digital media solutions for K-12 classrooms and academic and professional communities. My approach is collaborative and iterative- prioritizing client goals and participant needs to produce interactive, effective knowledge-sharing environments.

I received my M.A. in English from Auburn University and my Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Georgia State University. I have over fifteen years of university-level teaching experience in composition/rhetoric, ESL, professional communications, humanities, and digital media. I am also currently consulting on research and development projects that pique my curiosity through innovation and tap my commitment to community-building and problem-solving.

The technology skills I continue to build are a direct result of my desire to produce innovative and stimulating learning environments. I am an experienced user of a variety of development languages (HTML, Java, CSS, XML, PHP, Action Script), desktop, web and course authoring tools (MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia), online publishing systems (Open Journal System, Berkeley Electronic Press), web conferencing platforms (Gotowebinar.com, WebEx, Elluminate, Adobe Connect), learning management systems (Blackboard, Moodle) and research utilities (NVivo, SAS, EndNote, LiveScribe).

This portfolio presents examples of my research and work in dynamic materials development, online learning environment design, and digital media intergration for global communities of practice.
