I am a teacher, instructional technology and design consultant and PhD student. My professional and research focus is exploring cross-cultural and cross-sector educational collaborations to meet global challenges of sustainable and equitable development. I am currently serving as a Fellow at the India, China & America Institute where I have the opportunity to help educate our global audience on the impact of the market relationship between America and the world's two largest emerging markets.
I received my M.A. in English from Auburn University in 1997, and I have been managing classrooms and developing course materials for over ten years. My positions as a Freshman Composition, ESL and Online Instructor have given me valuable experience in curriculum development and training for a variety of adult learning styles.
The instructional technology skills I have gained are a direct result of my desire to produce innovative, interactive and stimulating course materials for adult learners. I am an experienced user of HTML, Java, CSS, XML, MS Office Suite, MS FrontPage, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and Illustrator.
My instructional design philosophy integrates technology with the many theoretical and practical curricular approaches I have been exposed to as a student and teacher. I prioritize clarity and structure in presenting information and design visual and dynamic materials to engage participants.
This portfolio presents examples of my work in dynamic materials development, online classroom design and technology integration.
